Doosan Group Chairman Park Jeong-won underscored the importance of applying artificial intelligence technology to other business areas as he toured CES 2024 in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

“We are closely looking at how far the advancement of AI has come and how it could change the traditional manufacturing industry,” said Park.

“We will look for the ties between AI technology and our business and seek business opportunities.”

The Doosan chief along with the group’s management leaders looked around the tech convention as they checked out the technological trends of global companies in the AI, robotics, autonomous driving and energy sectors.

Park mentioned that AI technology is not reserved for IT companies as he visited the exhibition of Doosan Group.

“As Doosan showcased here, (we) have a high level of competitiveness as we have technologies and products that have been applied with AI in the areas of collaborative robots and construction machinery,” he said, underling that the heavy industries and energy conglomerate should actively utilize AI technology in all other business sectors.

At this year’s CES, Doosan Robotics presented robot solutions that operate on the basis of self-learning by using AI technology while Doosan Bobcat debuted AT450X, an uncrewed and electric articulated tractor powered by AI.

Park also observed the latest trends in autonomous driving and vehicle electronics as he visited relevant booths of Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Mercedes-Benz and Mobileye.

“It’s the first large exhibition to check the whereabouts of AI technology across all industries and products since the introduction of generative AI, so I enjoyed getting the insights I need to keep in mind for business management moving forward,” he said.

“We must carry out innovation by actively using new technologies to contribute to providing safer, smarter working environments and creating a cleaner world.”
