NCT’s Haechan will take a break from band activities due to health issues, the singer’s agency SM Entertainment said Wednesday.
“Haechan showed symptoms of a severe cold along with a high fever during the band’s Japanese schedule,” SM Entertainment said on NCT's Weverse page. “He returned to Korea on Monday, leaving the other members behind, and visited the doctor.”
“He showed severe tonsilitis, according to the doctor,” the agency added. “Haechan will pause all his activities and take some time to rest as the doctor advised.”
Haechan will be unable to attend the scheduled group activities, including the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 what will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
SM Entertainment also said that it will decide when Haechan will return “depending on Haechan’s recovery.”
Haechan debuted as a member of NCT in 2016. He is a part of two subunits of NCT: NCT 127 and NCT Dream. He participated in NCT 127’s recent winter-themed single “Be There For Me,” released on Dec. 22.
