Sales of S-1’s AI facial recognition solution up in Jan.-Nov. 2023

South Korea’s security service provider S-1 Corp. is enjoying a surge in demand for its next-generation security product, Face Recognition Reader 2.0, launched last year.

According to S-1 on Tuesday, sales of the artificial intelligence (AI) biometric solution soared at a monthly average of 19 percent between January and November 2023.

The company employed an extensive dataset of global facial data and continuously trained its AI facial recognition algorithm to ensure precise facial recognition capabilities.

The solution has an accuracy of 99 percent, even in challenging conditions, such as individuals wearing masks or in low-light surroundings.

The Face Recognition Reader 2.0 is celebrated for its ability to adapt to subtle changes in facial features. The AI can identify facial characteristics, even with changes such as temporary facial swelling or forehead wrinkles. The updated solution reduces recognition time from 1 second to a swift 0.6 seconds, with more access passes to be granted to 50,000 from 3,000 of the previous version.

According to industry sources, the global facial recognition market is projected to grow at an annual average of 16.4 percent to $24.3 billion in 2032, from $5.5 billion in 2022.
