Jennie of Blackpink landed at No. 69 on Billboard’s Hot 100, breaking a record for a female K-pop solo artist.
The K-pop star made the Jan. 13 chart with “One of the Girls,” from the original soundtrack of HBO series “The Idol,” in which she also stars.
Previously, Rose of Blackpink was the female K-pop solo artist with the highest ranking, landing at No. 70 on Billboard’s Hot 100 with her single “On the Ground,” followed by Lisa of Blackpink at Nos. 84 and 90 with her singles “Lalisa” and “Money,” respectively.
Jennie made her acting debut in "The Idol" in June last year. She recently established her own agency, OA, for solo projects.
Meanwhile, Jungkook of BTS has remained on the Billboard 200 for a ninth consecutive week with his first official solo album, “Golden.”
This marks the longest record for any K-pop solo artist.
Previously, bandmate V's first solo album "Layover," which released in September last year, had stayed on the Billboard 200 for eight consecutive weeks.
“Standing Next to You,” the lead track from Jungkook’s album, has also been listed on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks, now sitting at No. 70.
Jungkook is currently serving his compulsory military service.
