The Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung will be discharged on Wednesday from Seoul National University Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for a week.
The party on Tuesday announced that Lee will continue his recovery at home for the time being.
Lee underwent surgery at the hospital on Jan. 2 after being attacked by a 67-year-old, identified only as Kim, while touring Gadeok Island in Busan.
The hospital reported that Lee sustained a 1.4-centimeter (0.55-inch) stab wound on his left neck.
