SK Group to showcase carbon reduction, AI technologies at CES 2024

SK Group is set to unveil its carbon reduction and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas, the United States, taking place from January 9 to 12.

The South Korean conglomerate will showcase a 1,850-square-meter integrated SK Group exhibition hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) Central Hall, presenting carbon reduction technologies and business initiatives.

Seven affiliates, including SK, SK innovation, SK hynix, SK telecom, SK E&S, SK ecoplant, and SKC, will jointly operate this exhibition.

Designed with a theme park concept, the exhibition hall aims to provide an experience of happiness in a net-zero world.

The hall is divided into five major zones. The Train Adventure, the first zone, introduces the hydrogen ecosystem being developed by SK, showcasing trains powered by hydrogen fuel cells, such as GenDrive, as they travel through tunnels. Visitors can watch videos within the tunnel that educate about hydrogen, carbon capture, storage, utilization, and small modular reactor (SMR) technologies.

The second zone offers an AI Fortune Teller experience, where AI technology predicts fortunes and draws composite cards featuring visitors’ faces. It will also feature HBM3E, the highest-performance High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) semiconductor currently available in the industry. In the Dancing Car third zone, SK Group’s eco-friendly electric vehicle technology will be highlighted.

At the Magic Carpet fourth zone, attendees can experience Urban Air Mobility (UAM) that operates on electricity. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience UAM, which relies on accurate analysis of sensor data from cameras, radars, and the performance of AI semiconductor Sapeon, ensuring safe flights by removing potential risks during the flight.

The final zone, Rainbow Tube, presents the process of recycling colorful plastic waste.

SK hynix and SK telecom will unveil various AI technology capabilities through a 530-square-meter SK ICT Family Demo Room.

The room will showcase ten AI services and technologies, including next-generation AI data center models, AI media studios, X Caliber pet AI diagnostic assistance services from SK Telecom’s core AI technologies, and the latest AI semiconductor X330 Sapeon, among other semiconductor technologies from SK hynix.

Chairman Chey Tae-won and SK on CEO Chey Jae-won, among other top executives, will attend the show. Chairman Chey is scheduled to visit the SK Group pavilion and major domestic and international corporate exhibitions on Tuesday, examining advanced technological trends, including eco-friendly solutions.
