iM expands 5G transparent antenna supply to global companies

South Korea’s iM Advanced Materials Co., a subsidiary of iM, an optical technology-based electronic components manufacturer, announced Monday that it will expand the supply of fifth-generation (5G) transparent film antennas to global companies from January.

iM Advanced Materials began supplying the antenna to global companies in the third quarter of 2023. The 5G transparent antenna is a modularized product that forms an electrode pattern on a transparent substrate material. Unlike conventional metal antennas, this film-type antenna is transparent, flexible, and lightweight.

The antenna can be installed on building exteriors and car windows without compromising their appearance. It is also advantageous for installations requiring a large number of antennas.

It also offers improved 5G network quality, high power capacity, high signal rate, and weight reduction.
