South Korean-owned sportswear brand Fila Holdings said Monday it has named Todd Klein, head of the company’s North American subsidiary, for a new position in charge of the global marketing strategy.
Appointed as the global brand president, Klein will join the board of Fila Luxembourg, the subsidiary of Fila Holdings that oversees the company’s global businesses. Klein will also continue to report to Fila Holdings and keep his previous responsibilities.
Klein joined Fila in January 2023 as the president of Fila USA.
Klein previously was Adidas Group’s vice president of advanced concepts, where he led double-digit growth, directing sports apparel and footwear divisions in the US and Germany. He also steered the rebranding project of Reebok as a global sports marketing director.
The role of global brand president is aimed at unifying and enhancing Fila’s global brand and presence as well as fostering a cohesive and superior consumer experience, the company said in a statement.
The company was originally founded in 1911 in Italy. Fila Korea acquired the brand in 2007.
“We needed a leader to ensure a sharper and more cohesive vision for Fila and to direct the brand to new heights,” said Yoon Keun-chang, CEO of Fila Holdings. “Todd’s extensive industry experience and profound comprehension of Fila’s brand, operations, products and services make him the ideal person to fill this vital role as global brand president.”
“I am excited to take on this broader set of responsibilities within Fila Group to lead our strategy asserting Fila’s position as a premium lifestyle sports brand,” Klein said.
“We’ll seek to deliver game-changing product innovations and continue to invest in inspirational collaborations.”
