A bulefin tuna sold for the high price of 114.24 million yen

The first auction of the New Year was held on the morning of 05 January and intermediate wholesaler Yamayuki made the successful bid for a bluefin tuna at the high price of 114.24 million yen (about 789,700. US dollars), about three times as much as last years hightest priced tuna. It is the first time in four years that it has exceeded 100 million yen since 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic.
