Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) has completed the delivery of 12 FA-50GF fighter jets to Poland, 15 months after signing the export contract, the company said Tuesday.

“Starting with the supply of the first two FA-50GF jets to the air base in Minsk in July, we have delivered all 12 jets, implementing our contract signed with Poland in September 2022,” the company said.

Out of the total quantity of 48 aircraft under the contract, the remaining 36 will be provided as combat aircraft FA-50PL, enhanced with avionics and weaponry in response to the needs of the Polish Air Force, and will be delivered between 2025 and 2028.

KAI’s FA-50GF has been showcased in major events such as the Radom Air Show since its debut, with the first flight in Europe on the Polish Armed Forces Day in August last year, gaining attention as a key model that is expected to replace Poland‘s mainstay fighter MiG-29.
