Singer Kevin Oh began his military service last month, his agency, T Cask Ent, announced Tuesday.
Oh, who is married to actor Kong Hyo-Jin, enlisted in the military last December; he did not announce that he'd done so, but a local media outlet reported Tuesday morning that the singer had begun his duties. T Cask Ent confirmed the report later that day.
“Oh enlisted in the military to expand his musical career, based in Korea, and to continue a stable family life with his wife in Korea,” said the agency through a post on its official Instagram account. “Oh has expressed his desire to return after completing his military service and to continue to provide good music and warmth with his fans.”
Oh was the season seven winner of “Superstar K” (2015). He debuted with the EP “Stardust” in January 2017. He gained more attention when he appeared on JTBC’s “Superband” in 2019, placing fifth.
He tied the knot with Kong in New York City in October 2022.
Kong debuted as an actor in 1999 with the film “Memento Mori 2” and has played lead roles in numerous hit series such as “When the Camellia Blooms” (2019), “It’s Okay, That’s Love” (2014), “The Master’s Sun” (2013) and “Pasta” (2010), as well as films like “Love Fiction” (2012), “Missing” (2016) and “Crazy Romance” (2019).
