Stringent security outside the High Court in Peshawar

The third phase of general elections commences with candidates filing appeals in the Peshawar High Court Tribunal due to the rejection of nomination papers; decisions are expected by January 10. The Election Tribunal, starting hearings on 03 January, will bind its decisions on all appeals. The revised list of candidates will be released on 11 and 13 January, symbols will be allotted to participating candidates. Over four hundred PTI aspirants face rejection, prompting appeals in the Appellate Tribunal with a panel of five judges from the Peshawar High Court.
