K-pop girl group BabyMonster is to release a new song titled "Stuck In The Middle" on Feb. 1.

YG Entertainment's founder and chief producer, Yang Hyun-suk, announced Monday in a YouTube video uploaded on the agency's YouTube channel on Monday.

Yang said the new song is not a hip-hop track and s a type of song that has never been released by a YG artist before.

He said he pays extra attention to BabyMonster as he feels the members are like "his daughter."

"2NE1 and Blackpink members debuted after they turned 20, so it felt more like they were junior artists, but for BabyMonster, the youngest member is 14 — just a year older than my own daughter. So I feel like I'm more concerned and paying more attention like a father," he said.

Regarding member Ahyeon, who decided to quit BabyMonster due to health issues just before the girl group made a debut in November, Yang said she is still with the agency, while nothing is certain as to when she will make a debut.

"Batter Up" refers to the call sign used in baseball, showing the group's aspiration to become a game changer in the global music market. The song also showcases the group's unique identity, according to its agency. To find out more about BabyMonster, visit Celeb Confirmed!
