The police launched an investigation Friday after a government center in Seoul received a bomb threat.
According to the Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Precinct, the Seoul Foreign Resident Center on Friday morning received a fax message saying that it will blow up the buildings of the National Police Agency, Prosecutors' Office, National Defense Ministry, National Tax Service and Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
The police notified the government departments so they could prepare for any emergency situation in advance.
The authority is tracking down the sender of the message.
“Though there is only a small likelihood of an actual bombing or explosion, the authority is responding thoroughly just in case,” an official from the police agency said.
