Stocks open higher as Wall Street advances

Shares started higher Wednesday, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street.
The Kospi climbed 1.09 points, or 0.04 percent, to 2,603.68 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
U.S. stock indices gained ground, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.43 percent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gaining 0.54 percent.
In Seoul, tech and battery shares led the positive start.
Samsung Electronics increased 1.04 percent, and LG Display edged up 0.08 percent.
LG Energy solution gained 0.84 percent, and Posco Future M jumped 2.87 percent.
But carmakers went south, with Hyundai Motor falling 0.6 percent and Kia retreating 0.42 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,294.65 won against the dollar, up 0.15 won from the previous session's close.
