Venezuela launches vulture hunt due to increase in waste sites

The Government of Venezuela launched a plan for hunting and transferring vultures, known in the country as zamuros, due to their increase in solid waste transfer sites, the Ministry of Ecosocialism (Environment) reported. The ministry said the plan has started in an open-air station located in Caracas, where garbage collectors temporarily dump waste, to begin 'a control of the vulture population' in this area where there has been 'a significant increase' in these carrion birds.
