The most searched-for television program on the mobile version of the nation's most popularly used search engine was "The Glory," with the most searched-for movie being "The Roundup: No Way Out," according to a report from Naver.
According to Naver's report on popularly searched for keywords in 2023 released Thursday -- which made use of Naver's data collected from January to November -- the most searches for a television show on Naver's mobile application this year was Netflix original drama "The Glory."
"The Glory" is a 16-part TV drama that began airing Dec. 30, 2022. It focuses on the story of a young woman who seeks revenge on her childhood bullies. The series, which became a global hit, was the third-most watched title on Netflix in the first half of the year, with a total of 622.8 million hours viewed on the streaming platform.
The second most popularly searched television show was local broadcaster MBC's romance drama "My Dearest," followed by tvN drama "Crash Course in Romance" and Disney+ original series "Moving." Netflix's dating show "Single's Inferno" was fifth for most searches among TV shows on Naver's mobile platform.
The report showed that "The Glory" and "Crash Course in Romance" were the most searched-for keywords in January and February, respectively, on Naver's mobile application.
The report further showed that the most popularly searched movie on Naver's mobile application over the period of January to November was "The Roundup: No Way Out," the third in the star-studded Korean action crime film series centering on a string of cases after police start investigating a murder case. The film sold 10 million tickets in just 32 days after the film’s opening in local theaters on May 31.

"Suzume" and "The Roundup: No Way Out" were the most searched terms on Naver's mobile application in March and June, respectively.
In December, the most searched term on Naver's mobile application was Korean movie "12.12: The Day," a fictionalized historical film that covers events surrounding a military coup that occurred in Seoul on Dec. 12, 1979. The movie hit local theaters on Nov. 22.
The most searched terms in the sports was "pro baseball," followed by "The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games."
The third ranking term in sports was "Premier League," followed by "Tottenham" and "The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games Soccer."
The most searched keywords for gaming was "LCK," which refers to League of Legends Champions Korea -- the primary competition for League of Legends in Korea. On June 7, the 2023 summer season of LCK kicked off, with Gen.G eventually emerging victorious.
The list followed with "MapleStory Inven," the Korean online community for Nexon's multiplayer online role-playing game MapleStory, and the corresponding term for EA Sports' soccer game FIFA Online 4.
Across all categories, the most searched-for keyword on the mobile application of Naver was "weather," followed by "YouTube," during the January-November period.
On the desktop version of Naver, "YouTube" and "Coupang" were the most and second-most popular keywords, respectively.
According to web analytics site Internet Trend, Naver's share of the domestic internet search market logged 59.64 percent as of Thursday, while Google accounted for 29.6 percent of the market share. Korean search engine Daum and Microsoft Bing recorded market shares of 4.53 percent and 2.47 percent, respectively.
