Pakistan Election Commission began receiving nomination papers for the upcoming general elections

The electoral process in Pakistan has commenced as the Election Commission began receiving nomination papers for the upcoming general elections scheduled for 08 February 2024. With over 128.5 million registered voters, candidates from 175 political and religious parties will vie for 266 National Assembly seats and 593 Provincial Assembly seats. The Election Commission's schedule includes the filing of nomination papers until 22 December, scrutiny between 24 and 30 December, and the publication of the final list of candidates on 11 January 2024.
