Popular webtoon 'The Bequeathed' to be turned into Netflix series

"The Bequeathed," a popular webtoon series in Korea, will be adapted into a Netflix show and released worldwide on Jan. 19.
Part one of the webtoon series, which was carried on Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon, was released on Nov. 27 and met with much acclaim.
Min Hong-nam will direct the television adaptation of "The Bequeathed," based on an original story by director Yeon Sang-ho, who created the stories behind and directed the films "Train to Busan" (2016), "Peninsula" (2020) as well as the Netflix series "Hellbound" (2021–).
Min worked as an assistant director in Yeon's previous works.
"The Bequeathed" revolves around the story of Yoon Seo-ha, who inherits a family graveyard after the sudden death of her uncle and gets embroiled in mysterious events and crimes. Actor Kim Hyun-joo, who has worked with Yeon on "Hellbound" and "Jung_E," will play Seo-ha in the screen adaptation of "The Bequeathed."
The Netflix series will be released along with part two of the webtoon series on the same day, and the second part will continue the story of Seo-ha, her family and the graveyard she inherits.
