After waking up to a winter wonderland, Korea's giant panda celebrity Fu Bao has been playing outside in the snow all day, Everland said on Wednesday.
Heavy snow hit the greater Seoul area from Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning, including Yongin, Gyeonggi, where Everland is located. Everland is Korea's theme park in which Fu Bao resides.
Photographs of Fu Bao, the Korean-born giant panda, were released, and in the photographs, Fu Bao is seen sliding and tumbling down a snowy hill in all sorts of ways.
This winter will be Fu Bao’s last winter in Korea, as she is scheduled to be moved to China early next year before she turns four, for endangered wildlife preservation reasons. Born to parents Le Bao, her father, and Ai Bao, her mother, Fu Bao is also the older sister to twins Rui Bao and Hui Bao.
Fu Bao was recently grounded after crossing the barbed wires surrounding the outdoor enclosure of her shelter in Everland. She was able to be taken back inside after 30 minutes by Kang Cheol-won, a zookeeper affectionately referred to as Fu Bao’s “grandfather” by the public.
