South Korean health supplement company CJ Wellcare said on Wednesday that its premium probiotics brand ‘BYOcore,’ which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023, topped 300 billion won ($230.56 million) in cumulative sales.

To celebrate BYOcore’s 10th anniversary, CJ Wellcare will conduct various promotions, including a draw for 100 customers who make purchases of 50,000 won or more on the company’s Naver Brand Store until January 31st, 2024, with each winner receiving a 100,000 won CJ gift certificate.

CJ Wellcare entered the probiotics market in 2013 with ‘BYO Skin Probiotics,’ created with the individually-approved probiotic ‘CJLP 133.’

Subsequently, the company dedicated efforts to research and development microbiomes, which is the community of microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses, which live in the human body, and introduced a system to directly produce and distribute probiotics.

The company rebranded its existing probiotics brand as BYOcore in February 2023, and launched high-dosage probiotic products including ‘BYOcore Healthy Live Probiotics 50 Billion’ and ‘BYOcore Healthy Live Probiotics 10 Billion.’

The company also introduced various functional foods beneficial for intestinal health, as well as for diets, vaginal health, and oral health.
