The police will close the case on singer G-Dragon's alleged drug use, a media report said Wednesday.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency has concluded that G-Dragon did not use illegal drugs and therefore will not hand over his case to the prosecution, Maeil Business Newspaper reported Wednesday.

The 35-year-old K-pop artist, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, tested negative in a series of scrutinized drug tests, and the six witnesses to the case did not provide sufficient evidence to prove the allegations, the report said.

"We are planning on closing the case on Kwon," a police official was quoted to have said by the Maeil Business Newspaper. "We will have a final conclusion by the end of December."

The police booked G-Dragon on Oct. 25 on charges of illegal drug use based on a testimony in September by a bar owner in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, saying that he used drugs in December last year.

G-Dragon repeatedly denied all charges and tested negative in hair, urine and fingernail tests. His travel ban was lifted on Nov. 25.

Meanwhile, an investigation is still ongoing into actor Lee Sun-kyun's alleged drug use.
