Korean Canadian film director Celine Song's movie "Past Lives" received nominations in five categories of Golden Globe Awards, including the top honor of Best Motion Picture – Drama.

"Past Lives" has been nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.

The film's lead actor, Greta Lee, received the nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, according to the Globel Globe Awards' website.

Competing with "Past Lives" for Best Motion Picture – Drama are "Anatomy of a Fall," the winner of the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes International Film Festival, "The Zone of Interest," recipient of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes and Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer."

"Past Lives," Song's directorial debut film, is about two childhood friends reuniting after 20 years as adults in New York, starring actors Greta Lee and Teo Yoo.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, was invited to compete at the Berlin International Film Festival in February and won Best Picture at The Gotham Awards, an independent film and drama award ceremony that was held in New York in November.

Miky Lee, vice chairwoman of CJ ENM, participated in the production of "Past Lives" as one of the executive producers.

Song's film is scheduled to premiere in Korea in the first half of 2024.
