Hyundai Kia cars picked as Car and Driver’s 10 Best Trucks and SUVs

Hyundai Motor and Kia SUV saw four models made it onto Car and Driver’s list of 10 Best Trucks and SUVs for 2024. The Hyundai and Kia models are the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV9, Kia Telluride, and Genesis GV70, Hyundai Motor Group said on Wednesday.

Hyundai Motor Group highlighted its inclusion in the list, emphasizing the acknowledgment of its SUVs, two of which are based on the dedicated electric platform E-GMP. The recognition underscores the competitive edge in the electric vehicle market.

Established in 1955, Car and Driver is an automotive magazine renowned for its annual awards, where its team of journalists rigorously evaluates SUVs, trucks, and vans priced under $110,000 that are available in North America. The evaluation spans over a two-week period, allowing the team to assess the vehicles’ performance comprehensively, and the selection process focuses on vehicles that excel in fulfilling their purpose, deliver outstanding value, and provide an exceptional driving experience.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 secured a spot in the list for a second consecutive year due to its innovative design, versatile interior space, and convenient fast-charging system. The Kia EV9 made its debut in the North American market in 2023 and earned its place in the 10 Best list for its 99.8 kWh high-capacity battery, spacious interior, and software-driven vehicle (SDV) features including the Kia Connect Store.

Kia’s strategic model for North America, the Telluride, has consistently made it onto the list for five consecutive years since its initial selection in the 2020 Best 10. Meanwhile, the Genesis GV70 secured its spot for the second year in a row, including its electric model in 2023.

Hyundai Motor Group stands out as the only automotive group to have multiple models from its brands listed in the 10 Best lineup.
