LG Electronics established an overseas sales division to bolster its global business in its annual reshuffle announced Friday.
The division will oversee LG Electronics' global sales subsidiaries in North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and more.
The new division will be headed by Yoon Tae-bong, who had served as CEO of LG Electronics North America.
"The restructuring focused on acceleration of the ‘2030 Future Vision' announced in July by fortifying organization capacity and business competitiveness," the company said in a release Friday.
"The gist of ‘2030 Future Vision' is [LG Electronics] transitioning into a smart life solution company beyond home appliance that connects various spaces and experiences and expanding them."
The newly set-up overseas sales division will be responsible for elevating LG Electronics' global recognition by fostering new opportunities and growth, the company said.
It will also work to expand its business-to-business deals globally, as emphasized by LG Electronics CEO William Cho in the 2030 Future Vision.
The company's home entertainment division has newly created an XR, or extended reality, team to delve deeper into the futuristic business. LG Electronics is known to be developing an XR device planned for 2025. Its home beauty business has been merged into its home appliance and air solution division.
Its vehicle solutions division also created a team dedicated to handling its global clients as LG Electronics looks to add new carmakers to its client base.
LG Electronics promoted two executives to presidents in the Friday reshuffle.
Park Hyung-se, head of LG Electronics home entertainment division, and Jeong Dae-hwa, head of LG Electronics' Production Engineering Research Institute, were promoted to president.
