LG celebrates Twins' win with 29 percent themed mega sale

In celebration of its recent triumph in baseball's Korean Series for the first time in 29 years, LG unveiled heavy discount events across its affiliates, from electronics to cosmetics, on Thursday.
Dubbed the 'Win-Win Festival,' key items will be offered with discounts of 29 percent, or 71 percent off so it can be sold at 29 percent of the original price. Some products will be sold at 2,900 won ($2.25), 29,000 won or 290,000 won in limited quantities.
For one day only on Nov. 21, certain LG home appliances will be sold at 29 percent off on the online LG brand shop.
A limited number of event-only LG home appliances will be sold at a 29 percent reduced price starting at 10 a.m. on LG’s online brand shop.
A special edition of LG Electronics’ portable touch-screen StanbyME Go, printed with the LG Twins’ Korean Series victory emblem, will also be sold from Saturday on the online brand shop until sold out.
A variety of giveaway prizes are also ready at the on-ground LG Best Shops and online brand shops. A total of 290 gifts including LG Gram laptops, the plant cultivating LG tiiun mini, LG Xboom wireless speakers, 290,000 won sales coupons and membership points will be given out every day to online membership holders.
Visiting customers who participate in the in-store photo event will also have a chance to win prizes including electronics and LG Twins jumpers.
Also online is a social media event. Anyone who posts the LG Twins’s Korean Series victory emblem, available for download from the LG Electronics online brand shop, onto social media along with congratulatory messages and hashtags can apply with the post’s URL.
Shinhan Card also joined in the fun with its limited-edition LG Twins design cards on Thursday. The event closed on the day it opened, as enthusiasts flocked to get a hold of one of the 2,900 cards.
LG's cosmetic and health care affiliate LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H) will also participate in the promotion, allowing consumers to snag flagship products of its cosmetics brands like Ohui and CNP at 29 percent of their original costs through its online mall from Nov. 17.
For instance, the Ohui Ultimate Fit Tone-Up Cushion, originally priced at 60,000 won, will be available for 17,400 won. Similarly, Belif's The True Cream Aqua Bomb (30 milliliters), previously 29,000 won, will be sold at 8,410 won.
The promotion extends to daily essentials. Toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, detergent and fabric softener will be part of a buy one, get one free promotion at offline channels such as large supermarkets and convenience stores until Nov. 29. Customers who spend 29,000 won or more will receive complimentary gifts, including items like detergent.
LG Uplus, the telecommunications company, is offering a draw through its members' mobile app for a chance to win prizes such as one-year OTT subscription vouchers, LG Twins jackets, LG Twins baseball caps and convenience store beverage coupons, from Nov. 17 through 26.
On its data commerce platform U+Kok, starting from Nov. 29 for 29 days, the first 1,000 customers daily totaling 29,000 people will receive a 10 percent discount coupon. Customers making purchases on U+Kok also have a chance to win prizes through a draw, including LG Electronics TVs.
For the month of December, the "Twins Friday" event will offer special prices on LG Electronics and LG H&H products at 2,900 won, 29,000 won, and 290,000 won.
