Genesis BBQ (bb.q), a Korean chicken franchise, has been recognized by the New York Police Department (NYPD) for its contributions to the advancement of Korea Town and enhancements in public safety.
bb.q's global expansion has coincided with a recent uptick in crimes at its U.S. branches, the company said Wednesday. The company has taken steps to reinforce its security measures in response, and has also introduced discounts for police officers across 26 U.S. states including New York, New Jersey, California and Texas.
“The initiative yielded positive results, with increased police visits leading to a decrease in store-related crimes and an overall reduction in crime rates in the respective regions,” bb.q said Wednesday. “The impact even extended to heightened sales in the surrounding Korean business districts.”
bb.q operates over 250 branches across 26 U.S. states.
