Seventeen to attend Unesco Youth Forum, release special video

Seventeen will attend the 13th Unesco Youth Forum on Tuesday in Paris, which has been bringing the attention of fans and media worldwide.

At the news of the boy band's attendance, the registration for the event closed early after 3,600 people tried to sign up for the event while there were only 550 seats available, according to Seventeen's agency Pledis Entertainment. "Seventeen's presence will add weight as they join the conversation, fostering dialogue and amplifying youth voices," Unesco said. "Their performance is more than just entertainment, it's a call for youth empowerment and collective action."

Seventeen plans to deliver a speech sending a message that "the solidarity and education of young people will change the future of the planet," followed by five performances including its songs "_World" (2022) and "God of Music," its agency said.

The band will also release a special performance video in line with the event's purpose, Pledis Entertainment added.

The band is scheduled to speak with French media news outlets as well.

The session will be streamed live on Unesco's official YouTube channel on Wednesday at 3:30 a.m., Korean local time.

Seventeen debuted in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment. It consists of 13 members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The 8, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino. The band is known for "Very Nice" (2016), "Clap" (2017) and "Super." It recently released its EP "Seventeenth Heaven" on Oct. 23.
