GS25 offers home appliances at special prices

South Korean consumers can now shop for winter appliances at GS25, a local convenience store chain.

GS25 announced that it will hold a Black Friday event from Monday, offering up to 45 percent off on winter appliances and living products.

The event features a variety of products that were previously hard to purchase at convenience stores, such as heaters, humidifiers, televisions, laptops, vacuum cleaners, and gold bars.

Products can be pre-ordered at GS25 stores nationwide for delivery.

The event will run until the end of the year. Fourteen products, including the Paseco gas heater and the Kiturami carbon mat, can be pre-ordered through the GS25 mobile application, Neighborhood Delivery, until Sunday.

The convenience store chain is expanding its product offerings to include not only food but also household and home appliances in light of consumers’ growing preference for nearby shopping channels, GS25 said.

GS25’s sales data shows that the number of customers looking for living and home appliances instead of food at convenience stores is increasing every year.

In the third quarter this year, sales from this category were up 71.8 percent from a year ago.

The number of home appliance items available at GS25 has also grown to more than 160.
