Post-Diwali air pollution in India

Hindus worldwide celebrated Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Due to the poor air quality in Delhi last week, pollution levels are expected to rise again after the Diwali festival. Air quality remains in the 'poor' category as the AQI was 293 in main parts of Delhi in the morning, and in spite of the Indian court's ban on the sale and use of crackers in the National Capital Region (NCR) to mitigate air pollution, revelers continue to burn crackers.
