MediThinQ, a local medical wearable company, will launch its medical augmented reality (AR) displaying device in Japan in November, utilizing a partnership with medical device company Medtronic.
Scopeye allows users to view high-resolution 2D/3D images wirelessly while also looking at their surroundings, which is expected to aid medical professionals by allowing them to perform surgeries in a more comfortable position and also potentially increase the accuracy of the operations.
It is compatible with all types of endoscopes, medical navigation systems and imaging medical devices, such as C-Arms, and does not require additional software installations, said MediThinQ in a news release on Friday.
The product launch follows the company’s success with Scopeye at the Medtronic APAC Innovation Challenge last year, earning MediThinQ a sales agency contract with Japan Medtronic.
MediThinQ also recently signed a supply contract for Scopeye with System Med SAS, a French distributor specializing in medical devices, after entering a strategic MOU with the Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust in Britain in October.
"We are focusing our efforts on pioneering overseas markets based on the high technical prowess and user convenience of Scopeye. Moving forward, we will actively expand our sales activities centered on Scopeye to broaden our international market presence and increase revenue,” said a MediThinQ spokesperson.
