Upbit, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Korea, is holding its annual Upbit D Conference (UDC) in Seoul on Monday, where global experts will share their insights on the latest blockchain trends.
Held under the slogan “All That Blockchain,” 39 speakers from 29 countries, including Korea, will largely touch on five topics, including finance and business, policy and regulation as well as cultural content related to the technology.
The D in UDC stands for the words developer, digital asset and decentralized.
Specific topics scheduled to be shared at the event include the future of non-fungible tokens, the efficiency and convenience of digital wallets as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on the blockchain industry.
There will be three keynote speakers at the event: Matt Sorg, head of technology at Solana Foundation, Jide Fashola, head of technical integrations at Cardano Foundation and Roger Ver, founder of Bitcoin.com.
Returning for its sixth edition, the upcoming event will be divided into online and offline sessions.
The offline session will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run through 6 p.m. The online session will become available at 6 p.m. on the same day.
The 39 speakers include Chiliz CEO Alexandre Dreyfus, Emily Parker, executive director at CoinDesk, Oh Se-hyeon, executive vice president at SK Telecom, and The Sandbox co-founder Sebastien Borget.
“Dunamu will play a key role in putting a spotlight on and expanding the blockchain ecosystem on diverse levels through the UDC,” said Dunamu, Upbit's operator, in a statement. “The online session will focus on content delivery while networking will be the focus of the offline session.”
The event will take place at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul. Some 3,500 people signed up to attend the event, according to Upbit on Thursday.
Last year’s conference took place in the southern port city of Busan.
