Pop star Lauv released a Korean version of his hit song “Love U Like That,” using AI technology, Universal Music Korea said Wednesday.
The singer got help from Kevin of boy band UKISS for the song’s translation and recording. After they translated the song, Kevin’s recorded voice was made to sound like Lauv’s voice through AI voice modeling technology made by Jordan Young, the founder of U.S. AI music start-up, Hooky.
The original version of “Love U Like That” was released on Aug. 4.
The pop star recently held a concert on Aug. 29 at KSPO Dome in Songpa District, southern Seoul.
"All the countries and fans were unbelievable, but I wanted to say a special thank you to Korea for being my biggest headline show to date and creating a concert environment I’ll never forget," the singer was quoted to have said in a press release for the new song. "I'm excited to be able to sing directly to them in this new, innovative way.”
