In a significant effort to support Busan’s bid to host the World Expo in 2030, LG Group has unveiled a grand promotional campaign using bus advertisements that will traverse the streets of Paris, where the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) is being held.

On Monday local time, LG introduced two Busan Expo buses near the Eiffel Tower along the banks of the Seine River. These double-deckers, adorned with wrapping advertisements showcasing Busan’s landmarks and the South Korean city’s aspirations for the 2030 Expo, will promote Busan at various tourist attractions in Paris from November 6 until the final decision on the expo host city is made on November 28, the company said on Tuesday.

A total of 2,030 LG Busan Expo buses will be in service throughout this promotional campaign. The launch event was attended by Jang Sung-min, special envoy of the president and senior secretary for future strategy, along with Yoo Won, Head of LG Electronics’ Public Relations/External Cooperation Center, and other officials.

Jang emphasized Korea’s unique collaborative governance, which was showcased at the event. “Today’s event represents President Yoon Suk Yeol’s national philosophy of an expo where private stakeholders are also involved, which is unique to Korea and can be presented to the world.”
