Fashion labels introduce premium cashmere collection amid high demand

South Korean fashion labels are introducing a wide range of premium cashmere collections as preference towards the high-end material grows ahead of the winter season.

Shinsegae International said on Monday that its contemporary brand, DELLA LANA, has seen a 50 percent increase in autumn and winter season sales compared to the previous year.

The surge is credited to the popularity of the premium cashmere collection introduced last month.

DELLA LANA launched a total of 33 cashmere products this season, including coats, jackets, knits, and pants, featuring various designs. Several items, such as the double-breasted cashmere long coat, have already sold out, leading to a restock order within just one month of their release.

“This brand is characterized by high-quality materials and simple designs, which align perfectly with the old money look trend and it has been gaining a lot of attention recently,” said an official from Shinsegae International. “We are looking forward to the second half of this year as the brand is getting good responses even before the full onset of winter.”

Knitwear brand, ILAIL, has also adapted to the old money look trend by expanding its range of knit products using 100 percent cashmere for this season.

The brand’s cashmere collection has seen a 60 percent increase in stock. Among the offerings, the long-sleeve cashmere crewneck knit has gained popularity for its versatile style, soft wearability, and elegant silhouette.

Women’s casual brand, G-CUT, introduced a new line of 100 percent cashmere products this season, catering to the growing demand for this luxurious material.

Samsung C&T Corp.’s fashion division already launched Cashmere Icon coats as its flagship products for the autumn and winter season.

With increasing formal events and a rising demand for sophisticated attire, the design and exceptional quality of Cashmere Icon Coat have garnered favorable responses from customers.

Last year, most styles sold out, and this year, the brand has expanded the range with various lengths and fits to provide customers with more choices.

The Cashmere under Hyundai Department Store Group’s fashion company Handsome unveiled more than 300 new products for the autumn and winter season, featuring items like cashmere sweaters and cardigans made with a blend of Italian-imported alpaca and cashmere, along with lambswool. The collection is known for its cozy ambiance and dimensional boucle texture.
