Congo virus effected doctors in Quetta

A doctor from Quetta, who contracted the Congo virus, died while being transferred to Karachi for treatment. The death has prompted the Balochistan government to issue an alert to halt the virus's spread in the province. The deceased, Dr Shukrullah Langove, was one of 11 healthcare providers infected after an outbreak of Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) at the Sandeman Provincial Hospital. Balochistan's health department has confirmed that four providers are currently being treated in Quetta, while six others have been admitted to a private hospital in Karachi. The origin of the virus dates back to two CCHF patients treated at the hospital, leading to the healthcare providers contracting the infection.
