Teo of boy band DKB will leave the band after having been caught drunk driving, his agency Brave Entertainment said Monday.
According to the agency, Teo drove under the influence and was caught by police on Oct. 30. His driver's license was suspended as a result.
"The company informed Teo that drunk driving is an action that is inexcusable under any circumstances,” Brave Entertainment said in a statement.
"After careful talks with Teo, we decided to respect his wishes to minimize the damage to the [DKB] team. […] We feel the gravity of the issue and promise to properly educate and manage our artists. We sincerely apologize for concerning the fans."
DKB debuted as a nine-member band in 2020, but with Teo's departure, the team has been reorganized as an eight-member band.
The band is known for its EP “I Need Love” and was awarded at the Asia Artist Awards in 2021 with the Focus Singer Award. DKB released its sixth EP “We Love You” last month and has plans to release new music this month.
