LG Electronics is enhancing its partnership with Emart, one of South Korea’s leading retail giants, by establishing a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The partnership, announced on Sunday, highlighted the inauguration of an EV charging station at Traders Dongtan Branch, one of Emart’s big box stores, on Friday.

The move represents LG Electronics’ strong commitment to the EV market and aligns with its vision of providing convenient and efficient charging solutions for the rising number of EV owners.

LG Electronics has positioned charging infrastructure across more than 30 Emart locations, making it accessible to a wide range of consumers.

The stations are equipped with a mix of charging options, including 100 kW high-speed chargers and 7 kW slow chargers, catering to the diverse charging needs of EV owners.

One of the features of the partnership is the integration of a comprehensive control and management solution, which interfaces with Emart’s mobile app.

The system allows Emart to remotely monitor and manage the status of the charging stations and helps customers find parking spaces through the app.

Customers can use Emart’s payment platform to pay for recharges with Emart points.

LG Electronics initiated its foray into the local EV charging market in 2018 with the early development of cutting-edge solutions.

LG Electronics strategically invested in HiEV Charger, formerly known as Apple Mango. The acquisition was coupled with the creation of a dedicated EV charging business unit, reinforcing the company’s strong presence in the EV charging industry.
