Louis Vuitton is collaborating with top Korean chefs for an upcoming pop-up restaurant at its flagship store Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.
Dubbed Woori Louis Vuitton, it will be the French luxury brand's fourth pop-up restaurant in Seoul, slated to open Nov. 17.
It is the first time that Louis Vuitton is working with Korean chefs and serving hansik, or traditional Korean cuisine.
The one Michelin-star modern Korean restaurant Hansikgonggan's owner-chef Cho Hee-sook is taking the helm of the menu. Often known as the "godmother" of Korean cuisine, Cho has been working in the kitchen since 1983, and in 2021, she was awarded Michelin's Mentor Chef Award. Cho was also named the Best Female Chef at the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2020. Hansikgonggan has been closed since August 2021.
Also participating in the pop-up menu are Korean traditional restaurant Onjium's head chefs Cho Eun-hee and Park Sung-bae, modern Korean fine dining Mingles' owner-chef Kang Min-goo, and Korean-French-inspired dessert boutique Lysée's pastry chef Eunji Lee.
"Guests will feel the value of the craftsmanship shared by Louis Vuitton with the chefs," Louis Vuitton said in a statement Friday.
"I am truly looking forward to the upcoming pop-up because we joined hands with chefs who are dedicated to paving a way forward for Korean food, and we have been able to reinterpret Korea's unique food and culture with Louis Vuitton," Cho said in the same statement. "We hope guests enjoy the harmonious items presented by the chefs through Louis Vuitton."
Spots at the upcoming pop-up will be available by reservation through Catch Table, starting on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
