Seventeen's 11th EP "Seventeenth Heaven," released on Oct. 23, will sit atop the Oricon Weekly Combined Albums Chart for the week beginning Monday, according to the latest chart by Oricon on Friday.
"Seventeenth Heaven" was released six months after its 10th and previous Korean EP "FML" in April. Seventeen also dropped a compilation album "Always Yours" in August.
With the latest feat on Oricon, Seventeen rewrote its own record to hold the record for the most topped albums on the weekly combined chart by a foreign artist.
Seventeen sold over 5 million copies of "Seventeenth Heaven" within the first week of release, the highest ever in K-pop.
The lead track, "God of Music," has become the first song by a K-pop boy band this year to sit on the No. 1 spot on Melon's Top 100 chart.
Seventeen will launch the "Seventeen 'Follow' The City" project with the "Seventeen Tour 'Follow' to Japan" in Tokyo, Saitama, Aichi, Osaka and Fukuoka, according to Pledis Entertainment on Friday.
"The City" is an urban park concert initiative by HYBE that offers an expanded fan experience with a variety of fun activities and events throughout the city.
"The City" project will be held concurrently with "Seventeen Tour 'Follow' to Japan" in the five cities where the project will take place.
Seventeen is a boy band composed of 13 members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino.
The band debuted in May 2015 and is known for its hit songs like "Very Nice" (2016), "Left & Right" (2020), "Hot" (2022) and "Super."
