Actor Lee Bum-soo signed an exclusive contract with Y.One Entertainment, the agency said Wednesday.

“Lee is a true actor who has an array of great filmography, and we want to support him so that he can focus on his acting career," the agency said.

Earlier this year, Lee was embroiled in an alleged power abuse scandal while working as a professor at Shinhan University. Some students at the school accused him of favoring certain students. Lee had been teaching performing arts for the past 10 years at the university and was also newly appointed dean of the performing arts department. Lee denied all accusations but submitted his resignation on Jan. 27, saying that he wants to focus on his acting career.

Lee debuted in 1990 with the film, “Well, Sometimes Let's Look at the Sky." Since then, he has been frequenting both the silver and the small screens, taking lead roles in drama series including "Surgeon Bong Dal-hee” (2007), “On Air” (2008) and “Giant” (2010) and films like “Bungee Jumping of Their Own” (2001) and “Operation Chromite” (2016).

The latest addition to his filmography is “The Roundup: No Way Out” from this year, the third installment of the “The Outlaws” (2017) franchise. Lee will also appear in the fourth installment.

He is to star in Tving's original series "Villains," alongside actors Yoo Ji-tae and Rhee Minjung. The announcement of the show's release date has been delayed due to the charges of drunk driving against Kwak Do-Won last year, who was also set to star in the show. Lee has also been cast as one of the actors in Netflix's new series, tentatively named "Mercy for None."
