LG Electronics to offer one-stop service from delivery to installation in U.S.

LG Electronics Inc. will offer a one-stop service that spans installation and delivery to consumers in the United States.

According to industry sources on Monday, LG Electronics has recently joined hands with LX Pantos Co. to begin the trial service in the U.S.

The one-stop service is already being offered to customers in Korea via 23 LX Pantos fulfillment centers.

The service was available in some counties of California in the U.S. with a majority of Korean residents.

LG Electronics has decided to expand the service locations to the U.S. states of Washington and New Jersey. Industry experts said that the service would also be expanded to appeal to high-paying U.S. customers if it proves successful in the market.

“The one-stop service has been offered to customers who purchased products at Online Brand Shop (OBS), the online sales platform of LG Electronics,” according to an unnamed official from the company.

There are also concerns, however, about the service’s sustainability in the U.S, given the country’s geographical nature and customer behavioral patterns.

In the U.S., home appliance stores are usually distant from residential towns, potentially making installation logistics become less efficient compared to Korea.

“U.S. consumers tend to prefer to install home appliances by themselves after purchases at wholesales shops,” said an industry source. “The company’s priority should be to identify how high-income households would respond to its pilot service.”

Despite the challenges, LG Electronics’ drive for the one-stop service has been motivated by its belief that offering diverse customer experience is the only way for the company to take a leading position in the U.S. market.
