Kia unveils The New Carnival facelift, adds hybrid model

South Korean auto giant Kia Corp. unveiled a facelift of its flagship large recreational vehicle, The New Carnival, on Friday.

The restyling comes three years after Kia released The New Carnival in August 2020. The automaker enhanced product competitiveness.

According to Kia, the new exterior design is based on the concept of “modern boldness.” The New Carnival has an appearance that blends elegance with the strong image of a sport utility vehicle (SUV), it said.

The front of The New Carnival has a futuristic look with vertically shaped headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs) known as Star-map Signature Lighting, as well as a radiator grille that highlights luxurious details.

The front design also combines with a simple yet refined bumper and a sleek skid plate at the bottom.

On the sides, the vertically shaped headlamps and rear combination lamps harmonize with the straight character lines.

At the rear, the license plate has been repositioned downward and the exposed handle has been removed to create a wide, clean tailgate.

The New Carnival is available in six colors – the new ivory silver, snow white pearl, astra blue, aurora black pearl, panthera metal, and ceramic silver.

Kia will also add a 1.6 turbo-hybrid model to The New Carnival, presenting three powertrain lineups, including gasoline, diesel and hybrid.

“We plan to reveal more details about The New Carnival’s product details and pricing in time for pre-contracting scheduled for next month,” a Kia official said.
