Thursday, McDonald’s announced that it would raise the prices of its Big Mac and other items starting November 2. The company will raise the prices of thirteen items on its menu by an average of 3.7%.

Recently, the government asked the food industry and restaurants to cooperate in stabilizing prices, but regardless, the industries are raising prices one after another.

According to McDonald’s, the price of a Big Mac will increase by 300 won to 5,500 won. The prices of Bulgogi Burger and McSpicy Shanghai will also increase by 300 won each. Consumers will be charged 400 won more for an Egg Bulgogi Burger and 200 won more for a cup of Iced Drip Coffee.

“We were forced to adjust our prices due to continued increases in raw material prices and logistics costs, but we minimized the number and extent of increases to reduce the burden on our customers,” said a McDonald’s representative. McDonald’s also raised prices in February, so the company was the first in the industry to opt for another price hike in eight months.

Other popular burger brands, such as Lotteria, Burger King, No Brand Burger, and Mom's Touch, announced that they had no plans to raise prices at this time.
