Soojin, former member of girl group (G)I-DLE, uploaded a performance video on Wednesday, making her solo debut official.
The video is Soojin’s first official content after she signed with her new agency, BRD Communications, on Oct. 16. In the video, Soojin is solo-dancing to a classical waltz piece.
Soojin quit (G)I-DLE in August 2021 after facing school violence allegations. She initially denied the allegations, but as the issue heated up, she suspended all her activities.
Through her attorney in September of last year, she admitted that she was “not the most diligent of students during middle school” and that she was involved in school bullying, but was never punished for it.
The singer took a low profile since the incident but broke her silence by opening an Instagram account on June 30 and began communicating with her followers.
Her former group (G)I-DLE has been active as a group of five since Soojin’s absence, releasing hit songs “Tomboy” (2022), “Nxde” (2022), and “Queen Card” (2023). It recently released its first English EP, “Heat,” on Oct. 6.
