A man in his 30s was injured after falling into a massive sinkhole that appeared in front of one of the popular IFC Mall in Yeouido, western Seoul, on Wednesday.
The man was sent to a nearby hospital after suffering minor injuries.
According to the Yeongdeungpo Fire Station and the Yeongdeungpo District Office, a 4-meter deep (13 feet) sinkhole appeared around 11:00 a.m.
The district office had set up a control line around the sinkhole to prevent further accidents.
Traffic resumed as normal as the sinkhole appeared on a traffic island.
The district office is investigating the cause of the ground collapsing.
