Singer Chuu will kick off her first tour as a solo artist in the United States in December, promising to meet with fans in seven cities around the North American country.
In her tour titled "Howl," Chuu will begin with a performance in Oakland on Dec. 3, followed by stops in Denver, Washington, New York, Atlanta and Dallas until Dec. 17.
"Howl" is the title of the singer's first EP, which released on Oct. 18. It was her first new project since becoming embroiled in a legal battle against her former agency, BlockBerry Creative, two years ago.
Chuu in January 2022 had filed for an injunction on her exclusive contract with BlockBerry Creative, at the time the agency of girl group Loona, of which she was a member, citing unfair contracts and mistreatment from the company.
The court sided with the singer in a ruling in March that year, and since then, it had been a messy back-and-forth between Chuu and her former agency, as the company "expelled” Chuu from Loona in November 2022 and she came forward with testimonies of the company's wrongdoings toward her.
It was in August this year that a local court sided with Chuu and legally terminated her exclusive contract with BlockBerry Creative, after a year and eight months of legal battles.
Her album marked the beginning of a new chapter, having wrapped up one of the messiest cases in K-pop. "Howl" sold over 57,000 copies within the first week of its release, and her music video for the song surpassed 16 million views as of Wednesday.
Chuu will hold concerts on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 at Sungshin Women's University's Woonjung Green Campus Auditorium in Gangbuk District, northern Seoul.
