Arts Korea Lab (AKL), a new platform to support artists and art-related companies, was opened by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service on Wednesday inside a high-rise building in Gwanghwamun in Jongno District, central Seoul. AKL takes up a total of five floors of the Twin Tree Tower A, the same building as the Japanese Embassy to Korea. It is equipped with conference rooms, small offices, a black box theater and high-tech equipment so that both artists and art-related companies can test out their work. To mark the opening of the new center, the Korea Arts Management Service said it will hold an opening festival at the new venue until Friday to showcase works that have been created using recent technologies and hold talk sessions on various topics including “Art, Science and Post Humanism” and “Sound X Technology” on Thursday, and “Art Industry Collaboration” and “The Industrialization of Creative Arts Activities” on Friday.
