Korean movie 'Love Reset' to be made into Chinese remake

The Korean film “Love Reset,” which premiered on Oct. 3 featuring actors Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, will be remade for the Chinese market, the film's distributor MindMark announced Tuesday.

The Korean film “Love Reset,” which premiered on Oct. 3 featuring actors Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, will be remade for the Chinese market, the film's distributor MindMark announced Tuesday.

The original rom-com will be coming out in theatres in other parts of the world as well, with its release in the United States on Oct. 6, followed by the Philippines on Oct. 18, Indonesia on Nov. 1, Thailand on Nov. 9 and Vietnam on Nov. 10.

The film revolves around a married couple who forgets all of their memories about each other and their married life after getting into a car accident on their way to the court for divorce proceedings. The couple's surrounding family and friends, desperate to get the two to stay together and have a happily-ever-after ending, lie to them to encourage them to spend more time with each other, saying that they were happy in their marriage. The couple attends outings and social events with each other in an effort to rekindle their affection for each other and tap into their lost memories, and a series of comical situations occur.

Kang and Jung play the couple, while actors Kim Sun-young, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jo Min-su play supporting roles.

According to Korea Film Council, the film surpassed the break-even point on Tuesday by selling 1.6 million tickets.

Barunson E&A, a company responsible for the film's overseas business, said the company has been receiving many requests for a remake from other countries as well.
