SK signet Inc., a South Korean electric vehicle (EV) charger maker, announced Wednesday that it has made its first shipment of V2, a new 400-kilowatt (kW) ultra-fast charger, valued at 5 billion won ($3.7 million), to U.S. electric transportation company Revel Transit Inc.

The V2 was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 earlier this year. It is the first mass-produced product to be delivered to a customer.

The chargers will be installed in New York and California starting in December.

The V2 is capable of 400 kW ultra-fast charging and can charge up to four EVs simultaneously when combined with a 600 kW power cabinet.

This is crucial for Revel’s core EV rideshare service as the V2 controls power so that Tesla Model Y vehicles used in the service can charge at an affordable price.

“We plan to further strengthen our position in the U.S. ultra-fast charging market by securing a wide range of customers, including large transportation companies,” said SK signet Chief Executive Officer Shin Jung-ho.
